Hello !

I was wondering if anyone knows if HP Victus 16-s0002nv or the  HP OMEN 16-wd0001nv laptops offer a second SSD slot ? If not then how upgradable is the current 1tb SSD ?

Hi Mspiros.

Yes, this is a good question about the dual storage option on these systems. Paul_Tikkanen EXPERT Level 22 has already posted answers on this subject, I'll just use his information......

HP Victus 16-s laptops only have ONE (1) SSD slot: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Adding-a-SSD-to-a-Victus-16-s00...    The VIctus 16-s0000 spec sheet confirms this. No mention of dual storage.....

Only the Victus 16-r models with the Intel CPUs have the possibility for dual storage, as seen on the Victus 16-r0000 spec sheet. However, even in this case there is a catch. Dual storage is only possible if these laptops have the more expensive HX Intel CPUs installed. There was a forum member that pointed this out on the spec sheet (https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Can-my-hp-victus-16-r0053nt-s-...) and I have since confirmed it from other forums.

HP OMEN 16-wd laptops SHOULD have TWO (2) SSD slots: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/How-to-find-out-if-I-can-insta...

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Notebooks/I-can-t-find-any-videos-or-anything-from-hp-can-this-...  You can see on the Omen 16-wf0000/16-wd0000 spec sheet that a dual storage version with 2x512 Gen4 drives exists. I can confirm that the 16-wf version with the powerful HX Intel CPUs has two M.2 slots, since Notebookcheck  did a review on these machines. From the above data, I would say that the 16-wd Omen laptops are the same, equipped with 2 M.2 slots. I have to say though that there is a very small chance the 16-wd are actually single-slot machines due to the fact that they only have the cheaper Intel-H CPUs. That is if HP has decided to follow the Victus example on these machines as well (without mentioning it on the documentation). I haven't been able to verify 100% what these machines have yet.

In any case and to answer your last question, as already pointed out by Paul_Tikkanen, these drives are very upgradeable. You can upgrade the Victus and the Omens to at least 4TB (since they're already sold retrofitted with such drives online).

Feel free to post back if you have more questions. Kalhmera!

I understand... I think I will go with the OMEN 16 choice ... Thank you so much for your help! Efxaristo !

I agree with your decision 1000%. The OMENs are better machines with a much better BIOS (which has a direct impact on RAM and SSD upgrades). Kalh synexeia!
