Hey fellow tech enthusiasts,
I'm currently looking to give my HP notebook a bit of a boost in terms of performance. I'm considering a hardware upgrade, but I'm not entirely sure where to start.
Could anyone share some insights or recommendations on compatible hardware upgrades for HP notebooks? Whether it's RAM, SSD, or other components, I'd love to hear about your experiences and any specific products or brands you'd recommend.
Also, are there any particular considerations I should keep in mind before diving into this upgrade process?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Best regards, maura_frankline

Here is the Service Manual:
Memory can be increased up to 32 gigs. Uses DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM. The increase to 16 gigs would likely help some, but whether going to 32 gigs makes any sense depends on what you do. Most computer users cannot really benefit from more than 16 gigs. Storage (M.2 NVME SSD) can be increased in capacity but you already have an NVME SSD so you can't make it go any faster. Processor and video upgrades are not going to happen unless you swap out the motherboard which would be extremely costly and not likely to be worth the expense or difficulty. Good luck

We need to know the exact model of the laptop. If it is at all recent in vintage, the processor is certainly not upgradeable and on some models not even the memory and storage are upgradeable. Your best upgrade is to install an SSD and an M.2 NVME SSD is the holy grail, but most models can use some kind of SSD which will be a game-changer if you currently have a mechanical hard drive. Next in effectiveness for upgrades is RAM. 16 gigs is the sweet spot these days so if you have less, and the computer can use it, upgrade to at least 16 gigs. If we know the specific model we can provide very detailed upgrade instructions
