HP Gaming Pavilion - 17-cd0700nd
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello i bought a hp pavilion in the hp store on black friday sale.

Serialnumber: [edit]
Productnumber:7GM87EA

But when i look at the warranty it says 18 months left, shouldn't it be 24?

This also indicates it has been used before, i don't get the full 52,000 mWh.

Could someone please explain what is going on here?

I was pretty close. Battery is 6 months old (189 days). 11% capacity drop in 6 months without use is excessive I agree but I doubt HP will replace the battery under warranty as it still tests OK. The 1 cycle is likely your usage. I would use it for a bit (like 4 or 5 days) and then run a calibration on it in the UEFI diagnostics, not from Windows. Takes 4 or 5 hours and it may improve the profile of the battery. I don't want to discourage you from making a warranty claim. Perhaps you should.

The laptop is not necessarily used, but it might have been sitting on the shelf for 6 months. You should use the built in battery diagnostic in the HP Support Assistant and look at the advanced output. It will tell you the exact date the battery was manufactured and how many cycles are on it. Your warranty assuming its two years total runs from first retail delivery and you can protest the presumed warranty expiration through the Support Assistant as well. Be prepared to provide purchase information to HP.

Well i don't know what to do here, battery capability is already at 89% while i bought it new. Al tough the cycles are just 1 this isn't acceptable. What to do now?

Thank you Huffer, i will do that. It felt like it was a second hand because of it. Not nice when you put that much money in a laptop. I will most certainly do a warranty claim.

Thanks again, that helped me alot!
