Thank you all for posting as it is encouraging to know that I am not crazy!!! I just saw that my very expensive computer is coming apart at the hinges. it made me think that I was crazy but Hp knows that this is a problem. I did research and wanted to buy from an American company so forth and so on. I actually purchased two Hp's. Thank God only one (the most expensive I might add) is defective. Thanks again for sharing as we have the power. Now what are we going to do with it.!!!

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
I understand that your HP Envy laptop hinge is damaged and the hinge assembly is separating from the unit.
As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now. I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options in order to diagnose the computer physically. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Please feel free to contact us here anytime you need any further assistance. Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
