An observation.  I have just posted a question, and it asks for the product serial number. Several options were given to locate it.  The Fn+Esc button didn't not work, so next I look underneath the notebook.  That is slightly inconvenient with all the cables but I lift it up...no serial number.  So the serial number must be in the battery compartment. That means I need to turn off the notebook...open the battery compartment...restart the notebook...reload the form etc.  Surely, with all the intelligence of HP the serial number could be in a more accessible location, especially if it's important to include in these questions. Just a tip for someone to pass on to the people who make these decisions...

When machine is ON, the quickest way is to use HPSA (HP Support Assistant) as shown
