HP Envy Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am beyond frustrated with my notebook's keyboard. I have a HP Envy. The shift keys sporadically work, it is NOT a hardware issue.

- there are times when it works for a few keypresses after I spank the shift key five times, sticky keys are OFF.

- sometimes it works after holding down both shift keys at the same time

- no keys are stuck

- I have updated the drivers

- I have updated the BIOS

- I have made sure the BIOS is default settings

- I have ensured there is no debris under the keys

- I am ready to launch this notebook out the window

- there is no malware present

- all settings are as suggested in other threads about this issue

Any help to make the shift keys work properly would be GREATLY appreciated as you can probably understand how frustrating it is, especially when trying to work.

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and I appreciate all your efforts and expertise in troubleshooting this issue

I suggest you run a Keyboard Test from F2 to confirm the Hardware Functionality

- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the Notebook.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Keyboard

Thank you
