I recently replaced an M.2 Sata drive in my laptop with a Samsung 980 NVMe M.2 drive and eventually succeeded in troubleshooting a clone that wouldn't boot. In the course of non-booting, I went to Diagnostics in the boot menu and elected to test the disk with a Component Test. It said it passed SMART tests but gave a warning for Short DST. I've learned that DST stands for Disk Self Test. I also learned that my diagnostics were outdated. Now that I can boot, I have updated Windows and UEFI Diagnotics. When I run them I still see "Warning" for Short DST if I elect to run it at boot time. The text below the result doesn't explain the Warning or raise alarm (at least in the updated version). If I run the (updated) Windows based version I can't find that test. I did notice a System Information screen suggests perhaps a self test is not applicable (?)
Searching these forums I've seen advice to replace a drive giving a Short DST warning. I'm wondering if I should attempt to exchange it while I still can. Advice?

Have you run Samsung Magician on it from Windows? I'd use those results a base for testing.
If you wanted to RMA the drive, they'll need a report from Magician anyway assuming this is a replacement drive you bought.
