I started getting an error and the computer would restart after a a few minutes of usage.  I ran a Hard Drive Check from HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI and got a SMART Check Pass but a short DST Warning on the quick check and and long DST Warning on the extensive check.  My computer originally came with a HDD bot about a year ago I replaced it with an SSD.  Would the SSD make any difference in the HD Check?  Maybe throwing a false warning?

Hi:

If your SSD is still under warranty (most of them come with 2 - 5 year warranties), I would submit an RMA and get a replacement.

It is possible that you are getting a false report if it only happens once in a while, but if it happens every time you turn on the PC, something isn't right--especially if the drive is crashing.

BTW...I noticed you asked about upgrading the wifi card a few years ago...you can upgrade to this dual band AC card with bluetooth in notebooks that only have one antenna wire...

Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11 ac 1x1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.2 Combo Adapter (MU-MIMO supported) HP part # L17365-005.

You can find this model on eBay, or Ali Express,

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=L17365-005&_sacat=0&_sop=15

The card will have the same 72 MBPS throughput as the RTL8188EE/8723BE on the 2.4 GHz wifi band, but on the 5.0 GHz wifi band, it will have a max throughput of 433 MBPS when you have an AC router with an excellent wifi signal strength.
