HP Recommended
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

(Edited to be more to the point.)

I'm an idiot who had no clue what a BIOS even was until after I unthinkingly, obliviously, updated it because HP Support Assistant was all "! Recommended!" and I was like "okay what harm can it do if HP insists" and each step seemed to go very smoothly--I mean, my laptop didn't automatically brick and so far it's been turning on alright and the only difference in performance I've noticed was that sometimes I had to disconnect then reconnect my wifi in order for it to work (wifi was automatically good though when I turned it on to test this time around, though).

But I'm scared because only after I updated the BIOS did I do some research and learn that oh apparently updating the BIOS is neither necessary nor recommended at all if my computer's already been working fine beforehand, which it had, perfectly--and there have been people whose computers have gotten absolutely messed up due to a BIOS update and I'm anxiously hoping I am not one of those people?

Here's my computer details by the way (hope these are all the relevant ones--I'm less than an amateur about all this)

Will my laptop be fine (since its performance hasn't really changed in the last few hours since I've updated the BIOS)?

Also I've read that updating the BIOS is especially dangerous if it doesn't match the computer or something? But I didn't even know/check what the former BIOS version was--is there a way to find out all of that?

Should I and is there a way to roll back this update without like, opening up the laptop and touching the motherboard, which I am way too unqualified to do and cannot afford to have someone else do... and without purchasing anything else for some reason like a USB (idk)--I'm poor frankly (the laptop was a one-time gift I got just this month)  can't even afford chicken nuggets--just a fool over here desperate for a easy undo (i do realize it's probably not easy but like--hoping??) or perhaps just some reassurance. some answers.

(or perhaps a how-to on time travel)

I did the thing in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2T6Y03295J4 before I realized that doesn't undo the update hahahah 😓

I've been paranoid and dwelling on this for literal hours and hours
