Hey all!
I am quite rubbish when it comes to hardware, but I noticed my batter going down rather quickly. My laptop is about 2 and half years old so I am aware that with age comes damage/degradation - My battery age is apparently 2 years and 9 months and after doing a few tests I saw that:
Design Capacity = 4550 mAh
Full Charge Capacity = 2848 mAh
So to me that looks like my battery only charges up to about half of what it once did.
Is it time for me to replace my battery? If so what type of battery do I need/where to buy from?
Thanks!
Saul

I would at this point but could be delayed until you actually get an error message. That might not be far off, however.
Here is the Service Manual:
"How to" on page 45. Your model has the 4-cell battery:
4 cell 70 Whr 4.55 Ahr LI SR04070XL-PL 917724-855
3rd party:

I could not locate a new, genuine HP battery.
Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.

Thanks for this, I greatly appreciate it, just to clarify, I am guessing I am right by saying that my batteries full charge is only half of what it should be/
Thanks for finding that for my battery too, that's really helpful!

Actually I remember than when it gets too low it just shuts down, and when it boots back up it goes to a black screen with a warning about the battery being either in too low a temperature or being old.
I will take a screenshot for the next time it happens!
