Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP Spectre x360 laptop computer and since updating the OS to Windows 11, my built in webcam is no longer detected.  The error message is: 0xA00F4244 - No cameras are attached.  How can I get the computer to recognize the camera again?

I've encountered the same issue since updating to Windows 11.

Strange thing is, Windows Hello still works fine, but within windows, its like theres no camera present.

Camera is definitely present in device manager. My HP spectre is not a model with a webcam kill switch either, so thats not the problem.

I've done the following troubleshooting:

- reinstalled webcam drivers

- tried older webcam drivers

- reinstalled the latest bios

Hoping there's a timely solution please.

What's the solution, HP or anyone in the community?

What model is your laptop, and does it have 11 drivers? We've seen quite a few people here with webcam issues with W11. May have to roll back to 10 until they have driver bug fixed for 11.

I have the same issue but my laptop came with Windows 11 pre-installed and they tell me they cannot roll me back to 10. Love the laptop but very frustrating not having a webcam.

Worked with HP help chat for a couple of weeks. They took me through reinstalling BIOS and Windows 11 a few times. All to no results. Even took the laptop back to the Service Centre who recommended replacing the LCD screen (where the webcom is embedded). Still no resolution. Finally they recommended replacing the motherboard which cost more than half the price of my original new Spectre x360. That's when I gave up and stopped the painful saga of about one and a half month of being knocks around by the HP tech support!!!
