How do I go about purchasing a single key replacement for my new laptop computer? One of the keys popped off my keyboard and I cannot find replacements anywhere online since it's a new computer. This is a 15-dy1xxx in silver. The hinge under the key itself appears to be broken.

I'm not familiar with that model. However, I would contact HP technical support. Since you said it's a "new laptop computer," it might still be under warranty (depending on how "new" it is and the warranty period you chose for it). If it is still under warranty, I would be very hesitant to fix it myself (if I were you). If you tried to fix it yourself (or had someone else, not approved by HP, try to fix it), and something else went wrong with the laptop, it could void your warranty.

HP does not sell individual keys for laptop keyboards -- that's why you can't find any part numbers.
And @masteryoda1041 is correct about getting it replaced under warranty and about NOT attempting to replace the keyboard yourself. The really old models take 15 minutes to remove four screws to do that; the newer ones are a LOT more work.
