I am looking to upgrade my ram but I am finding single rank and dual rank options. The specs for this laptop does not tell me if the ram installed is single or dual? Does anyone know? Will it matter which one I get? Also stock ram is 2400 mhz, but I see 3200mhz options but not much more. Can you mix speeds? I have seen I can buy 3200 mhz for less in some cases vs 2400 mhz. I also see the max upgrade is 16 gb per HP but AMD says their motherboards can support 32 gb? So does this one support 32 gb?

You're very welcome.
Since I have never tried it, I can't say for sure.
It is probably not a good idea though.
You can see this link for an explanation of the difference between the two types.

Hi:
Run the free utility that I zipped up and attached below.
It will show you the number of ranks the memory module has that came with your notebook.
You can mix speeds but the max the memory will run at is 2400 MHz.
Crucial indicates the max is 2 x 16 GB of memory.

When you run the report close out of the summary window.
Click on the memory report on the left side of the program.
Click on the memory module listed. On the right side of the report will be the number of ranks...one or two.
Here is a screen print of my desktop PC's memory report...
