Hi all

im currently experiencing a problem with my HP Probook 450 G8  where my write speeds to the SSD are incredibly slow. The laptop originally had a Samsung NVME SSD and I’ve subsequently installed a high performance NVME drive and noticing exactly the same problems. My read speeds are great, at around 2000mbps but my write speeds are around 100mbps. Totally unacceptable. My bios is up to date and all my storage controllers are up to date too.

also just to note that my drive is only 30% full.

any help please !

Hi,

What is the "high performance" NVME drive? Don't forget that there are different PCIe generations that might not be fully compatible.

Asus ROG STRIX G16 Manjaro Xfce
HP Touchpad provided by HP
HP Microserver Gen8 10TB Debian Server

Hi. Many thanks for the reply.

It's the same gen NVME SSD as what the laptop originally shipped with when it was shipped. PCIe Gen 3x4 but I am quite shocked with the lack of performance I am seeing from this laptop. I originally thought it might have been due to the origina SSD having a problem but seems like it isnt the SSD's fault at all.

Any idea whether it could be driver related?
