Product: Presario CQ42

I have presario CQ42 facing slowness & hang issue when work internet. Every one hour restart the system. I want to update Ram. Can be upgrade ram for this issue and howh muchm  required to solve the hang the issue.

CQ42 is a very old machine and the problem might be many things but the first two I would think of would be a hard drive problem or malware, then bad memory. How much RAM do you have now? And what is the exact model? Some can be upgraded to as much as 8 gigs, some 4.

Hi my system have 1 GB ram and 300 GB hardisk and modal number Cq42 -372T. Suggest the what i am  updating slowness issue resolved.?

Your problem is the 1 gig of RAM. Totally inadequate for today's computing needs. The laptop takes up to 4 gigs of DDR3-1333 SO-DIMM and is easily replaced through a service door on the bottom of the laptop. 

 

You should start with installing 4 gigs of RAM and see if that does not fix the problem.
