I recently purchased the Elitebook X360 830 G8. On the left side of the chassis, there is a slot for a smart card. Does this slot come with a cover over it for those who do not wish to use a smart card? The store I bought the unit from tells me the slot is normally left uncovered and that's how it comes from the factory. Just wanting to confirm if that is true. From the images shown in the website for this product, I can see the slot is covered. However, some images are for illustrative purposes only and may not reprresent the actual model you recieve (at least that's what the store tells me.)

No, it does not have a cover. I actually use a piece of sticky tape to cover it. I always cover ports which I don't use on my machines or docks to keep dust out.
Regards.
