Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

<p>Hello ,

About 24 hours ago some soapy water spilled into my keyboard . It was a quite small quantity and the laptop was off so I just wiped it off and let for work . When I got to work ,I turned on the computer and realized that pressing some keys triggered other keys and the alt , ctrl keys also stopped working .

I have tried leaving the laptop open for some hours but it's still the same behaviour.

Any suggestions ?

My laptop model is :

Hi! @tayo1, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand you dropped soapy water on your laptop and some of the keys on the keyboard are stuck and some keys are not functioning.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your laptop?

Have you tried checking with an external keyboard? Does the issue persist?

Excellent description and a great diagnosis done. It is greatly appreciated.

As you dropped liquid onto your laptop accidentally some of the hardware components on your PC might not be functioning correctly. And there is nothing much we can do in this situation.

Replace the faulty keyboard on your laptop.

Also, try running a system diagnostics test on your PC and check if the hardware components on your PC are functioning correctly.

I will share you few details through a private message about the service options for your laptop.

Thanks for reaching out.

I didn't make any software/hardware changes to my laptop

With a USB keyboard, everything works fine and that's what i've been using even though it's not as convenient

I did run a diagnostic already and it reported no errors

Looking forward to your inbox message.

Thanks
