Hi @Jen2413

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for sharing the details and for already observing your laptop’s behavior so closely. Sudden power-offs without heat buildup can feel unsettling, and I appreciate the care you’ve taken to look into it.

Let’s focus on the software and drivers shown in your screenshot and how they might help stabilize your system’s performance.

Drivers Worth Installing Based on Your Issue

HP Notebook System BIOS Update (Intel Processors)

  • This update can improve system stability, power management, and hardware communication.
  • If your laptop powers off unexpectedly, updating the BIOS may help correct firmware-level issues.
  • Download: HP BIOS Update F.03 Rev.A

Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) Driver

  • This driver supports system-level communication between the OS and firmware.
  • It can help with power state transitions and system responsiveness.
  • Download: Intel MEI Driver 1914.12.0.1256 Rev.A

HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI

  • This tool allows you to run offline hardware tests from the BIOS environment.
  • It’s useful to check for hardware faults that might cause intermittent shutdowns.
  • Download: HP UEFI Diagnostics 7.6.0.0 Rev.A

HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows

  • This version runs within Windows and can test components like battery, memory, and thermals.
  • It’s a good way to confirm if the issue is software-related or hardware-triggered.
  • Download: HP Diagnostics Windows 1.6.0.0 Rev.A
