I own an Envy dv7 7243cl, and I want to replace the HHDD with a solid state one.This Laptop model Support Sata III ?
I want to install a Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1TB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD as principal unit, and use the original one (Toshiba mq01abd100) as a second.
It´ll be possible..thanks jcs

This is an old machine, from my memory it has TWO HDD bays and yes you can use 2.5" SSD for primary slot and old HDD for secondary slot. You may need following part
secondary hard drive connector cable are available in the Hard Drive Hardware Kit, spare part number 681976-001
I remember my one of my loan machines was an Envy dv7 with 2 HDD's pre-installed. Please use page 48 of the following manual

@Banhien
I hope it is okay that I add my questions to this thread.
I have the same computer, Envy dv7-7243cl. My hard drive is failing.
It originally had Windows 8 in it when I purchased, but I had taken the Windows 10 upgrade when it was offered. No discs were included with the purchased computer. The computer has handled & worked well with the Windows 10 upgrade.
If I were to try to add the solid state drive you have been talking about, would it be possible to copy the failing original hard drive to the solid state drive, internally in the computer, or would I have to be able to install a new OS & all the drivers, software, etc that came on the original hard drive?
Thank you for any assistance or advice you can give me.

@shadow98fl Welcome to HP Community!
Here's a list of SSD's tested and approved by HP for your device:
For details on how to replace the SSD: Click here & visit page. 72-73 > Chapter 4 > Removal and replacement procedures.
That said, if you wish to replace the HDD with an SSD, you may do so at your own discretion, preferably with the same storage space as the HDD, and get a recovery media to reinstall the factory shipped OS on the device, if you haven't created one on your PC when it had been working fine, simply order it online using the steps mentioned in this link: click here or here (if applicable)
I hope that answers your query,
