Just fresh installed Windows XP. Now I cannot connect to my internet. Is there some drivers for my device that could work on Windows XP? (Please, don't ask how and why I ever installed XP in the first place.)

That's a Ralink 4390 Wi-Fi adapter and these should be the XP Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers for it.

Wifi:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp58501-59000/sp58586.exe

Bluetooth:  Not sure this will work but it is the only one I could find for XP.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55063.exe

On an outside shot, see if these graphics and audio drivers work:

Graphics:  This would just be for the Intel video.  There isn't one for the AMD video.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp57001-57500/sp57230.exe

Audio:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59001-59500/sp59291.exe

Intel management Engine Interface (should be labeled as a PCI Simple Communications Controller):

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52001-52500/sp52143.exe

Ethernet:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59001-59500/sp59118.exe

Hopefully, some of these drivers will work.

One question I know you do not want to answer: why? HP only published Win 7 and 8 drivers for that machine. XP drivers are possibly available but will have to come from device manufacturer websites or similar sources. I encourage you to consider Windows 10 instead just for the sake of security. Windows XP cannot be made even minimally secure now.

If you must run XP I would do it as a virtual machine

now that is exactly.the point! i just dont want to use any other OS. (this is my second PC based device) I just want to feel some nostalgic 🙂

I feel your pain but your desire is not realistic. If you wanted to run it you would need to go into device manager, identify each piece of hardware with an error mark (no driver) and we would have to identify the hardware and go out and find a driver for it. No guarantee there even ARE drivers for all the hardware. Then, if you use it on the internet you have to avoid using a credit card, banking, etc. because you are a sitting duck for hackers.

Looking at the specs for your PC, there are no XP drivers for the:

AMD/Intel switchable graphics.

IDT audio

USB 3.0 ports

...and probably other devices I haven't thought of.

Maybe there are drivers for the Wi-Fi adapter, but I need to know what model Wi-Fi adapter your notebook comes with.

Personally, I consider it a waste of time proceeding since you will never get the graphics or audio to work in XP.

What good is that not to have two of the most important components in the notebook not working?

no graphics? the screen shows up perfectly. for usb 3.0 im just gonna say nothing, because i have some usb 2.0

@Huffer

i know about hackers. but i have a child bank account (im 15, if your interested) and i dont usually buy something on computer. i usually do it with a bank app for phone.

and about drivers, ill try find something here

HP Recommended

Of course it shows up perfectly but all you have is a basic display and you can't set the screen resolution to the specs of the display, nor can you put the notebook in sleep mode.

Do you want me to see if there is an XP driver for the Wi-Fi adapter or not?

If so, please post the hardware ID for the device listed in the device manager labeled as a Network Controller.

Here's the link to a chipset driver for Windows XP for the notebooks with the Intel 3rd gen core processors:

Intel Chipset Installation Utility and Driver

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59001-59500/sp59259.exe

That will at a minimum install the SMBus controller.

i think this is the one
