My son is trying to play Fortnite on laptop - it has nvidia mx150 graphics - 2gb - it seems to be laggy even on the lowest setting. Is it possible to replace graphic card with a better one, and if so what graphics card should I get installed? thanks.

To cut straight to the chase...No. There is no way to change the video system in any way.
However, Fortnite is not a super demanding game...very middle of the road mainstream and should be able to run at low settings on an MX150. You should make sure the game is actually being played on the nVidia card and not the integrated Intel card.
This old post will give you some idea what I am talking about.
