After installing a BIOS update (F34 Rev.A,) suggested by HP Assistant, my PC does not recognize the audio device or microphone, It doesn't work even when connecting wired headphones, it only works with Bluetooth.
I tried to revert to the previous version F21 Rev.A, of the BIOS which is here https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-15-dy1000-laptop-pc-series/model/29322766 creating a USB recovery but in the end it didn't work, I tried using USB recovery and pressing Win + B, but it says the files are corrupted.
Does anyone have any helpful suggestions? thanks

Hi @Andryj96,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing issues with your HP Notebook 15 after a BIOS update, particularly with audio devices not being recognized properly. Here are some steps and suggestions you can try to resolve the issue.
Check Audio Settings
Sometimes after a BIOS update, audio settings may reset or change. Here’s what you can do:
Check Device Manager: Right-click on the Start menu, select Device Manager, and expand the "Sound, video and game controllers" section. Look for any devices with exclamation marks or that are listed as "Unknown device." This indicates a driver issue.
Update Audio Drivers: Right-click on the audio device listed under "Sound, video and game controllers" and select "Update driver." Choose to search automatically for updated driver software. This might download and install the correct driver for your audio device.
BIOS Rollback Procedure
Since attempting a BIOS rollback via USB recovery didn’t work initially, try the following steps:
Ensure Proper BIOS Version: Confirm that you downloaded the correct BIOS version (F21 Rev.A) for your specific laptop model from the HP support website.
Prepare USB Recovery Drive:
- Use a different USB drive if the first one gave you "corrupted files" error.
- Format the USB drive to FAT32 before copying the BIOS files onto it.
- Follow HP’s recommended steps precisely for creating a BIOS recovery USB drive.
Perform BIOS Recovery:
- Turn off your laptop.
- Insert the USB recovery drive.
- Press and hold the Windows key and the B key simultaneously, then press the Power button while continuing to hold the Windows and B keys until the BIOS update screen displays or you hear beeping sounds.
- Follow any on-screen instructions to complete the BIOS recovery.
Additional Troubleshooting Steps
Reset BIOS Settings: If possible, enter the BIOS setup (usually by pressing F10 or ESC during boot) and load default settings.
Check Hardware Connections: Ensure that all audio-related hardware (headphones, speakers, etc.) are properly connected and recognized.
By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the audio device recognition issue on your HP Notebook 15 after the BIOS update.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hello @Alden4,
Thank you for your reply and help.
Regarding the audio drivers, I already checked and it does not show the notebook's internal audio device.
I also reset the BIOS settings as you told me.
I made the recovery USB on two USBs but it still says that the file is corrupt after formatting it and trying to reset the BIOS, I tried with another one but the HP recovery USB program does not recognize it.
I tried to boot it by selecting the efi file inside the USB but then it returns a signature error after booting.
None of that has worked, my hope is that someone release some corrective update, or if you could provide me with some other BIOS version prior to the F34 and different from the F21 that is on the HP site compatible with this notebook, to try to reset it.
Thanks
