I'm currently using my laptop and just turned on the backlights for the keyboard. I've noticed that the space bar is not lit up, I searched the problem but the answer wasn't for my model so I just want to make sure. Do I need to get this fixed or not?

@BPRthebeast,

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,

According to the product specifications, I see that your PC has been shipped with  Intel® Core™ i5-8300H (2.3 GHz base frequency, up to 4 GHz with Intel® Turbo Boost Technology, 8 MB cache, 4 cores) Processor.

Here's the Maintenance and Service guide of your HP notebook, In this it shows that your PC has been shipped with Full-size backlit, 3-coat paint, island style keyboard with numeric keypad Keyboard.

If you're looking why there is no light on the back of the spacebar, that's normal. There is nothing wrong with the laptop it's designed in such a way.

While it may look a bit inconsistent or strange in the dark, I honestly wouldn't find much use for a backlit spacebar considering that it's easily the biggest key on any conventional keyboard.

To adjust the brightness of the backlight, press the key with the backlight icon  two or three times in a row. The keyboard backlight dims and brightens. It might be necessary to press the fn (function) key at the same time to activate the backlight key.

For more details on how to use the backlight feature, please go through this support document for - HP Notebook PCs - Turning a Backlit Keyboard On or Off

I hope I have answered all your questions. Let me know if you need any further assistance. I'll be more than happy to help you.
