IS 13252 (part 1)

When I try to press the space bar on my new HP keyboard, it will not send the input if my Shift and W keys are being pressed at the same time. It works for other keys though, so like I could press Shift+W+Ctrl and it would work. The model of the keyboard is the HP IS 13252 (part 1).

 

I have tried reinstalling the drivers for the keyboard, and nothing changed.

Check for hardware issues:

  • Ensure that there is no debris or physical obstruction under the keys, particularly the Shift, W, and space bar keys. Gently clean around and under the keys if necessary.

Update your keyboard firmware:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your keyboard. Firmware updates can sometimes resolve hardware-related issues.

Use an online keyboard tester:

  • Use an online keyboard tester to see how the keys are being registered. This can help identify if the problem is consistent or intermittent. You can use sites like KeyboardTester.com for this purpose.

Check for conflicting software:

  • Sometimes, third-party software can interfere with keyboard inputs. Boot your computer in Safe Mode and see if the issue persists. If the problem goes away, a software conflict might be the cause.

Modify keyboard settings:

  • Go to your computer's keyboard settings and make sure there are no unusual configurations that might affect key combinations.
  • On Windows, you can access this through:
    • Settings > Devices > Typing > Advanced keyboard settings.

Test with a different keyboard:

I am connecting it to my laptop, and my laptops built in keyboard works. I tried on keyboard tester.com, it shows up as working. There is nothing in the keyboard, and it did not change when I tried it with a different computer.
