I am trying to source parts required to fit a HDD into my laptop.

The main part that i require is the HD drive connector board part number L-20454-001 and the hard drive bracket, part number L-20455-001.

If anyone can point me to a supplier i will be most grateful.

Hi

i have now updated my laptop and all seems well.

I got the "hard drive connector board" from Amazon. It came complete with the connector cable at a cost of £39.099. The same product is listed on the American Amazon site for consderably less at $12.99, but they do not deliver to the UK.

The hard drive bracket i am getting from E-Bay, to be delivered next week.

The hard drive i ordered, a 500gB Seagate drive, from amazon. This turned out to be a disaster. It arrived in two days, and when i opened thje package the drive was in a plain cardboard box with a label saying "Seagate approved packing". In the box was only the drive. NO warranty card, NO CE approval certficate and no installation instructions. I decided to accept the starnge conditions of the purchase and installed the drive. Thats where everything came to a stop. I could not recognise  the drive using either "Windows frive management" or "Paragon Hard Disc Manager". Thinking that i had done something wrong i again disassembled the laptop and removed the drive. Putting the machine together again, the problem was still there.

After several hours trying i then came to the conclusion, bearing in mind the way it was packed on delivery, that this drive had been previously returned as faulty and repacked and sold to me.

I have now returned the drive to Amazon and am awaiting my refund.

Ultimately, i replaced it with a 1Tb WD drive that i removed from my previous, now totally failed, Lenovo machine.

This works perfectly, and when it arrives, i will fit the drive bracket.
