G62
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi, I'm in need of a new battery for my G62 Notebook. The original battery is 10.8V with 4400 maH. I've also seen batteries for sale saying they are compatible with 11.1V and 5200maH spec. My question is whether my laptop will work safely with a higher capacity battery? Why is there this alternative on the market? Many thanks for your help.

Hi,

It is fine to insert a higher capacity battery and 11.1V is fine too.

The part number for the battery is 593553-001

Hope it helps,

David

Thanks for your reply - Does the higher capacity mean it will last longer when charged. I've returned one battery sold on amazon because it only lasted just shy of 2hrs. I want to buy a battery that will give me at least 4hrs which is what I had when I first got this laptop. I've also seen a 7800maH battery so would that be Ok too? i just want to understand how these batteries work so I can get the best for my money.
