Hello, I am looking to replace the optane drive in my laptop with a large ssd. From what I can gather online it is a 2280 PCIe 3.0x4 form factor, but I cannot tell if it is mSATA or NVMe? All I really need is directed to a compatible 1TB SSD.
Thank you for any assistance.

Hi:
If your PC has Intel Optane memory, then the M.2 slot supports NVMe SSD's, because Optane memory requires an NVMe controller.
The drive spec is the very common M.2 2280.
Chapter 1 of the service manual has the supported drive types.
Before you install a NVMe SSD, you have to first disable the Intel Optane memory in the IRST software and also in the BIOS.
See this link for more info on that...last two sections.
