Spectre Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, my laptop shuts off instantly when unplugged. For about two weeks it would shut down after (unplugged) on battery for a short period without warning and indicating a strong (+50%) charge. Now it won't last at all and shuts down instantly when unplugged.

I have tried:

  • Restarting the computer
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling “Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery” driver
  • Updating BIOS (was not possible on my build, would not tell why)
  • Performed battery and AC tests from HP Hardware diagnostics tool - both show passed
  • Performed extensive system test - all passed

I do not have a removable battery. I cannot find any other steps to resolve this problem in the forums. How can I fix this?
