Yea my Spectre has been getting really hot when I have been using it for school it will sometimes get really hot and I only have chrome, spotify, and maybe word or some other office app open. While charging it gets extremely hot on hardware monitor it says 77*C and 170*F if anyone has had this problem and or knows what to do a comment would be appreciated.
EDIT: also I've been charging it for an hour while using it and it is only at 50% when it was at 35%

What is the complete product name or ProdID from the bottom of the notebook? look among the tiny letters.
You have only given a general identification of your notebook and that isn't really specific enough for good advice to be given.

I figured it out it was some of the HP software. after uninstalling all of their stuff it got rid of the issues the battery is not draining nearly as fast or taking as long to charge ,and it's not getting nearly as hot while, charging or otherwise, charging it sometimes spikes up to 159*F/71*c but it seems to be when it's opening apps or running a few intensive apps now it hovers around 113*F/43*c under the same work load. I don't know if it was some software malfunctioning and pining the cpu or something or they intended it to run like that ,but I can only believe that it was some sort of malfunction.
