HP Spectre Pro x360 G2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This is a shot in the dark at this point, I'm scouring to find a part that I don't even have a name for, so I'll do my best to describe it.

I am doing a screen + digitizer replacement on my Spectre and while removing the screen + digitizer from the screen assembly with a heat gun, a large portion of the membrane that acts as a spacer between the screen and the aluminum chassis came off with the screen. Now I'm hunting for a replacement of this membrane so I can continue the repair.

Any direction would be stupendous.

That is why I avoid working on touchscreens. That part is not going to be available by itself and losing it likely means now you have to get a whole screen assembly.

Perhaps @Huffer has an idea. He should get a notification since I tagged him. If he has any thoughts I'm sure he will pop in when he is online.

Though 100% of the time I agree about the not working with touch screens assertion, the unit is outside of warranty, and the entire screen assembly is $1000 as opposed to the screen + digitizer replacement costing $220. So, the Delta is significant.

Seems silly that I couldn't find a square piece of plastic. Unfortunately, as I suspected all along, HP likely wants me to replace rather than repair which is not a road we can go down at the moment. If this is the only solution, then thank you. I will continue to look on my own, in hopes of finding a gasket somewhere.
