Hi @Fierasecreta,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for reaching out. I’m really glad you caught that early. When the back panel starts to lift, and you can actually feel that gentle bulge underneath, it’s almost always the battery expanding, and you’ve done the right thing by stopping use and checking.

I’ll need a couple of details from you

To help locate the exact compatible battery and back cover, could you please share:

  • Your PC Serial Number
👉 Please send this privately (not in a public post) for your security

Also, if possible:

  • Could you share a clear image of the bottom/back of the laptop where the swelling is visible?

👉 That visual helps us confirm how much the chassis has flexed and guides you more precisely.

Important:

Since you’ve already noticed the back lifting:

  • Try to avoid pressing on the panel
  • If the surface feels uneven or slightly soft when touched, that confirms pressure from the battery inside
  • Keep the device powered off and unplugged when not in use

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
