Hi @aztony,

Thank you for the update and for confirming the results. If the Windows + B BIOS Recovery procedure simply boots into Windows and never brings up the BIOS Recovery screen, that can sometimes indicate that the BIOS itself is functioning normally and does not detect a condition that requires recovery.

Since you've confirmed there is no warranty coverage and the BIOS recovery did not launch, the next step would be to check the hardware status of the system.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  1. Shut down the notebook.
  2. Power it on and repeatedly tap Esc until the Startup Menu appears.
  3. Press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  4. Run the Extensive Test if available.
  5. If your issue is related to the USB-C functionality, please also check for any available USB Port or USB-C component tests within the diagnostics.

Once the tests are complete, please let us know:

  • Whether all tests pass successfully.
  • If any test reports a Failure ID.
  • Whether the USB-C/USB port test is available and what result it reports.

These results will help determine whether we're dealing with a hardware-related issue or if further software and firmware troubleshooting would be more appropriate.

Please share the diagnostic results when you have them, and we'll be happy to continue assisting.
