My Spectre (about 6 month old) locks up when operating on battery mode. Neither the touch screen nor the keyboard work when I am operating on battery - even though battery is charged 100%. I have to force shut down and then plug it in and restart. It has been this way since I bought it. I have the screen savers for battery set at 10 minutes.
It will let me enter a few keystrokes before it locks up - no more than about 30 seconds worth.
I purchased this at Best Buy - if that makes a difference.
