HP spectre 15” common power issue. I looked this up on Perplexity… HP can you replace my motherboard since this is due to a defect (that you won’t admit to)? This already happened twice when I was under warranty when you previously fixed it. Thanks.
HP Spectre x360 15" laptops have a common issue with power and charging problems, often related to motherboard failures. Here are the key points:
1. Many users report their HP Spectre x360 suddenly stops working, won't turn on, or doesn't respond to charging attempts[1][4].
2. The root cause is frequently a failed motherboard, which is a widespread problem for this model[1].
3. These issues tend to occur just after the warranty period expires, leaving customers frustrated[1][4].
4. Attempted fixes like checking power supplies, removing batteries, or updating BIOS often don't resolve the problem[3].
5. HP customer service typically recommends standard troubleshooting steps that are ineffective for this particular issue[4].
6. Repairs can be costly, with motherboard replacements costing around 300 euros even without profit for the repair shop[1].
7. The problem appears to be a manufacturing defect affecting a large number of units, though HP reportedly denies this[1].
Due to these persistent issues, some former HP employees and customers strongly advise against purchasing HP Spectre x360 models, citing poor performance and reliability concerns[4].
