Common problems for Battery
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about: Battery Reports, Hold a charge, Test and Calibrating Battery . Check out this link: Is your notebook plugged in and not charging?

What is the resolution on this issue? I already replace my swollen battery once (which I learned was in quite a dangerous state) and now it's happening again. This is clearly a defect on the part of this computer - what is being done to compensate buyers? I've been a loyal HP customer for decades and would like to know next steps. Thank you.

The Experts here are not HP employees. So we can only provide observationsand advice and not compensation. A swelling battery is not a defect in the computer its a property of Lithium Ion technology. All laptop batteries and even cell phone batteries can swell. You give us no information about the model number or how long you have owned the second battery. If it is less than a year old the battery itself is under warranty and presumably would be replaced with a new one.
