Our Spectre x360 15-ch004na has occassionally been unable to connect with wired ethernet via Spectre USB-C Travel dock. I have always been able to fix the problem quite easily. This week the connect just will not work. A hardware test confirms that USB and Thunderbolt are working fine. I can see that just before the problem, Windows Updat automatically installed HP Inc. - Firmware - 15.36.0.0.
My HP Spectre x360 - 13-aw0053na uses a Belkin Thunderbolt 3 Mini Dock. I tried that but it would not connect either. A solution has been found using an USB-A lead to a USB dock. But I am concerned that using the only one of three USB ports which wish to function as required.
Any ideas?

Nirvana_95, I have not made any changes to the system except windows update in the last couple of years. Previously, I will have applied recommended HP updates.
As I said I have set a separate to provide the wired connection and that is fine. But not now using either USB-C socket.
