Spectre x360 15t 4k Touch UHD Radeon 4GB RX Vega M
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

In September of this past year, I purchased a Spectre x360 15t with Vega M GPU. I've had an overall positive experience using the product ever since, with the only exception being the battery life, which was advertised at around 8-9 hours video play time.

Since day one, even with little GPU usage, battery saver after 50%, and light web browsing, my battery seems to only ever last an average of about 3.5 hours from a full charge, and running a recent Windows 10 full battery report proved my theory. According to the report, in only the first week after purchase back in September, my battery life averaged at 3:41. My current average looks to be right around there as well at 3:29. The longest it has ever lasted according to the report was one week at an outlier high of 5:51--when I can only assume it was idling.

Is this a normal battery life to expect for this product? I understand that the dedicated card might contribute to the battery drainage, but I rarely ever find myself opening programs which might use it. Hoping to find some answers.

Thanks!

@akeefe Welcome to HP Forums Community!

Here's what you need to know about how the battery typically drains:

Adjust the Screen Brightness

Kill Background Processes and Services

Take Care of Your Battery by Avoiding Heat: Click here for steps.

And last but not least, if the issue persists, reinstall the battery drivers by uninstalling the same from the device manager and get back to me with the results,

Let me know how that pans out,

Thank you for the breakdown of battery drainage, and apologies for the belated reply. So just for clarification, do the draining times I mentioned from the start still sound somewhat accurate for this model of laptop? I'm hoping to determine if my battery might be defective in any way.
