Hello everyone,
I had to replace the battery in my laptop at the end of last year, my warranty had already expired so my partner did this for me (he's quite experienced so no problem).
Since the battery cover had to be removed a few times, most of the tiny screws are now 'threaded'; i.e. we can't screw them in or out anymore, and the thread that holds the screws in on the cover are also broken.
I was wondering whether it would be possible to buy a replacement bottom, if so, where would this be possible? I've looked all over online and can't find anything. I have the black/gold edition, not the silver (see picture)
I'd also like to replace the screws, could anyone tell me where I could get these from too (also what size, they are incredibly tiny).
I wanted to contact HP directly to ask this question but my options were limited, hence the forum post.
I'm willing to pay a fair bit, my laptop cost me a lot of money and I've only had it two years, I found it quite bad that the warranty only lasts one year whereas on other electrical appliances it's at least three years...
I live in the Netherlands, all tips appreciated! Thanks!
Amy

We are going to need the precise model or product number. Then we can pull up the Manual and look at the parts list. The lower enclosure is probably available as a replacement part and we can try to find you one based on the HP Part number. A screw kit is also a numbered replacement part and we can find you one of those.
Just saying a good laptop technician does not strip screws so be careful and make sure you use the correct tools. How are you planning to get the stripped ones out?

Thanks for the quick reply!
The ones that were threaded were not put back in to my laptop, currently I only have 6 out of 8 screws holding the laptop base on but they are in rough shape. A few stick out since the 'screw holes' (I'm sorry, I really don't know the technical names) are also threaded and dont work properly anymore. I'm a student and my laptop gets used intensely, hence me wanting to get it back into good shape!
My laptop product number is this: P1E27EA#ABH
I couldn't tell you what the part number is, sorry (unless you can tell me where to find that).
Thanks again for your reply!
