My HP Spectre x360 suddenly stopped charging and the amber LED light next to the power jack no longer lights. Initially, when I wiggled the adapter cord by the jack and positioned it just so, it would start charging again, so I thought my power adapter had gone bad. Purchased an HP travel adapter and it didn't resolve the issue (although it worked on another HP I have). Purchased a new battery and that didn't work. Tried a power reset while I had my laptop case open and that didn't work.
Any suggestions on how I can troubleshoot and solve this issue would be appreciated.

Hi re:"Initially, when I wiggled the adapter cord by the jack and positioned it just so, it would start charging again, so I thought my power adapter had gone bad"
Nope. That meant that there is a bad connection at the DC input.
Remember for the future when troubleshooting anything that is electrical or electronic.
If wiggling something makes it work again, even for a brief moment, there is a bad or intermittent connection.
If you will provide complete identification of your notebook I will be able to find a source for the part that you need to replace.

When logged into Windows, hold down the Windows key and tap the R key.
Type in msinfo32 and press enter.
The ninth line is the SKU and the HP product number. Kindly post it in your next reply in your thread.
An alternative method:
Take a look at the bottom of the notebook among the tiny letters and locate the ProdID.
The ProdID will enable us to determine the hardware configuration of your notebook.

You're welcome!
Your notebook's support portal.
The part that you need is
Power connector cable 801513-001
It is actually a modular part that plugs into the notebook's system board.
Maintenance & Service guide for your notebook.

You can have it replaced at a laptop shop, unless you want to do it on your own. It does require disassembly of the notebook.
It is an inexpensive part.

Thanks @erico. Replacing the power connector worked! Once the connector was out, I could see that one of the wires had disconnected from the pin. The laptop didn't end up needing a fully disassembly - basically the heat sink and fan that were on top of the connector wire, which made it a lot easier So glad to have my laptop powering up again!
