Spectre x360

Hi all,

I have an HP Spectre x360 laptop and the keyboard and touchpad aren't working.

This has only been the case since the screen on it was replaced (which works perfectly).

As soon as the computer boots up all seems to work. I cab press ESC to get me into the diagnostic menu and the keyboard test shows it as working perfectly but as soon as I boot it up normally and get to the welcome screen it stops working.

If I run keyboard and touchpad tests through device manager after it has booted up (using the touchscreen), I get no response.

Does it need a reset of some sort? The fact that the keyboard works in test mode would seem to suggest the hardware is in order? Any troubleshooting tips greatly appreciated!

@jhthom Greetings from the HP Community!

I have a few steps that should help resolve the issue:

  1. Use an external keyboard/mouse to check if that works fine on your device while you are on windows,
  2. Update the BIOS, Chipset using the HP Website: click here to find and install the same.
  3. Also, create a new user account and check if that works too.

Keep us posted,
