Greetings and Welcome to HP Support Community!
I understand you are having issues with the computer overheating. I will be glad to assist you here. 🙂
To assist you with clarity, I would require more information regarding this.
-
Does the computer freeze lockup or shutdown?
- Did you perform a bios update on the machine?
- Does the fan spin at all or if it does is it loud and noisy?
For now please perform all the prescribed steps from this link: HP Notebook PCs - Reducing Heat Inside the Laptop to Prevent Overheating
Also, check this link out: HP Notebook PCs - Why Computers Generate Heat for further assistance. It has good to know information.
I would suggest here is to update the Bios and Chipset drivers. Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.
Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.
If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution and Kudos buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Have a great day!

Does the computer freeze lockup or shutdown?
No it hasnt yet.- Did you perform a bios update on the machine?
Its brand new why perform a bios update? This is a very dangerous thing to do to a new computer - Does the fan spin at all or if it does is it loud and noisy?
It is overheating and the fan is very loud. it happens intermittently.
I am not perfoming any maintenance on a new computer I paid a thousand dollars for.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.

Someone from HP needs to contact me. Three faulty computers is just ridiculous! Im not even running any high end programmes or games and have wasted weeks reloading programmes and now have to start over.
I used HP for years..no probs but in last year 3 faulty HP computers from tower to top end laptop no end to the problems. What have you done?
Someone needs to contact me ASAP
