I have purchased a new Spectre x360 2 weeks ago. So far I am very pleased with the device but I am starting to worry about an issue that occurs sometimes. The notebook shuts down suddenly without an error message...
Until yesterday this only happened when I turned the notebook back on from hybernate mode. Sometimes (not every time!) when I wanted to turn it back on from hybernate it was obvious that it didn`t restart from hybernate because all the programs were closed. This is/was annoying but didn't bother me too much.
Yesterday evening though I brought the Spectre back from hybernate. The lockscreen showed up for 1-2 seconds, then the screen turned black together with a quiet clicking sound and the device was off.
After restarting everything was normal but the USB-C port in the upper corner wasn't able to provide power to the USB-hub anymore. The second USB-C port still delivers power for the hub, so I guess the problem is related to the port and not the hub.
Charging the Spectre via the "broken" USB-C port still works though.
EDIT: I just noticed that the second USB-C port that still delivers power to the hub is only randomly able to charge the Spectre. This is getting very weird...
I have no idea if the 2 issues (shutdowns & USB-C port) are related...
Do you think this is hardware related? Any ideas how to proceed from here?
Thanks a lot in advance.

@ricola77 Welcome to HP Community!
If the device is charging intermittently, this is most likely a hardware malfunction and related to the USB Type-C port issue as well,
I recommend upgrading the BIOS & Chipset drivers using the steps mentioned here
