Hi there. I was thinking of installing an ssd into my laptop as the hdd is quite slow. I noticed that the laptop has no CD drive so is there another 2.5' slot? Or is there an m. 2 slot.

This website says that there is a m. 2 sata slot but I want to check before buying.

Hi,

The service manual does mention support for M2 SATA3 SSD. However before buying an SSD you should check if the actual slot is present on motherboard as sometimes in notebooks that did not come with M2 SSD, the physical slot is missing.

On page 43of service manual you can see the steps to remove the bottom cover

If the slot is there you can insert an M2 SATA3 SSD such as the Crucial MX500 or the M2 Samsung 860 Evo or similar. You can get of your desired capacity (no limit). You will need to reinstall the OS on the SSD for great performance gain.

Hope it helps,

David
