a quick check of the HP "quickspecs" for your model systems shows that the factory installed hard drive is a 1 TB 5400 rpm SATA one (2.5in)

however crucial, shows that the unit

also can take a NVME Gen 3 or the newer faster gen 4 M.2 style ssd which is used as the boot drive usually due to it's speed over the 2.5in mech sata drive

so your laptop may have shipped with a M.2 or a 2.5in drive (or both)

i recommend the gen 3 nvme SSD for the best bang for the buck, gen 4 ssd's are at a price premium and not worth the cost right now in my opinion as a 2tb gen3 can be had for the price of a 1TB gen4 ssd

Hi, @Kaushal22

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook, where you can find the M.2 SSD installation procedure.

Maintenance and Service Guide HP 15 Laptop PC

Do not buy a PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD unless you plan on moving it to a newer PC in the future.

Your notebook's M.2 slot is only PCIe Gen 3, so a PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD will not achieve its maximum advertised read/write speeds.
