Pavilion DV7 6B 32 US
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have a Pavilion DV7 6B 32 US laptop that is 64 Bit running Win 10 64 Bit.  I just noticed tonight that there is a solid orange light (not blinking) by the AC adaptor charging port.  My laptop turns on perfectly, has no other problems.  I have upgraded it maxing out its capabilities and by that I mean it now has 16GB RAM and a second physical HD that is 1TB divided into two equal partitions.  Can anyone tell me what this means?

Thank you,

Alisa

That light just means the battery is charging.

That model came out over 7 years ago. IF the amber light never turns white, no matter how long its been charging, the battery is most likely at its end of life cycle and would need to be replaced. It doesnt have to be if you only intend on using the power cord though.

The way I have it maxed out to its limit I am hoping I can get another 2 years out of it before I retire it in favor of new tech as I also have 2 iPads (a 4th generation still working and a new one I bought last week).
