I wanted to learn the notebook's storage connection standards (as in protocols) but couldn't find any info on it. What connection standards does this laptop uses and what generation are those on?

Your model has a 512 GB M.2 NVMe SSD.
Your M.2 slot is PCIe gen 3. An NVMe gen4 SSD will work but it won't run at the designed read/write speeds from the gen3 slot.
Generally, M.2 NVMe SSDs have no capacity limit. You can upgrade the SSD up to 4 TB.
According to your service manual (on pages 2-3), you model supports the dual storage (M.2 SSD + 2.5" HDD).

You need to buy a bracket if you use an HDD (see pages 45-46 of the manual).
