Attempting to add a HP SSD EX900 Plus M.2 to my laptop for more storage as all the updates have taken the eMMC storage up but it does not seem to be working. Is this product compatible with my laptop or did I buy the wrong one?

Hi:
The 14-Fq0xxx notebooks with the 64 GB eMMC flash drives do not support NVMe SSD's.
You will have to return the HP NVMe drive and exchange it for a SATA M.2 SSD such as the Western Digital Blue SA510.

I seen you comment this same thing on another question. However the sata you are recommending is not the right one for my computer. The one you are recommending has 2 divets in the connectors where my computer only has a port for a single divet on the right side of the connecting prongs.

The fact that the SATA drive has two notches doesn't prevent it from fitting in the slot.
All M.2 slots in every HP notebook and desktop PC I have ever come across have only one key.
The one notch in the SATA SSD fits where that key is, and the other notch simply does not make contact with the pins on the other side of the M.2 slot.
Apparently, you have not read the many posts from forum members who assumed as you have that just because the 14-Fq0xxx model series' with the 64 GB eMMC drives M.2 slot has one key, that it will support a NVMe SSD.

If you install a NVMe SSD in there, you will get the same result as the others did.
