I had my laptop (Pavilion 15-au123cl) repaired a few years ago when it was under warranty at a Certified Service Center. I have not touched the screws on the bottom of the laptop since then. I am trying to replace the fan so while trying to remove the base enclosure so I can replace the fan, I have found that one of the screws is missing and the recessed screw below the rubber strip is stripped and impossible to remove by typical means. Despite no longer being under warranty I feel like this should not be a repair that I should have to pay for as I had nothing to do with the screw being stripped. I can replace the fan myself if the screw was normal and could be removed like the other screws with a screw driver.
