Hi, I have a problem with my laptop HP 14 g-102au. I want to upgrade the memory, currently it has 2gb ddr3l 1600mhz. I just buy a new RAM with 8gb ddr3l 1600mhz and change the old one (it only has single channel sodimm memory). But, the new ram doesn't work. I still can open the bios menu, and it detect my new ram as 8gb. I also run memory test and it passed. But when it booted to windows, it got stuck at windows logo with some strange screen coming out like in the pic below.
It looks like my screen was broken, but it doesn't happen when I use the old ram. It seems to be the problem with the new ram, as I try to use the old ram and everything work as usual. I double check my new ram specs and it has the same specs as the old ram (my new ram is V-Gen Platinum 8gb ddr3l 1600mhz, my old ram is SK Hynix 2gb ddr3l 1600mhz). Does anybody have idea what's going on with my laptop? Thanks.

this is a possibility indeed, buying the exact same modules should solve your problem.

Hello
This can be a problem with the module, even new!
It may not be compatible with this motherboard
The computer is in exact auto repair?
Have you tried to wait to see if it ends up starting?

Hi,
I actually have bought 2 RAM, same brand different models (the other is V-Gen Rescue) but same problem appears. It's always stuck at windows logo and start an automatic repair. But after few minutes or second may be, the loading screen stops with a flickering screen. I have waited for about 40 minutes or so, but nothing happens.

V-Gen Platinum
V-Gen Rescue
This is an unknown brand to me ..
If your computer does not manage to start with this, find modules of reputable brand, you indicate to have a module
SK Hynix
I will try the same brand maybe!

I found something, on my old ram it say 1RX16 pc3l 12800s, but on the new one it say 2RX8 pc3l 12800s. In know pc3l 12800s refers to ddr3l 1600mhz sodimm. But what is 1rx16 and 2rx8? Does this affect the compatibility issue in my laptop?
