Turned my laptop for the first time after buying it and it's stuck on verifying my identity in Microsoft. I sent a security code to my phone number and it expired and everytime I put the last four digits of my number like it asks, it says request to change password had expired, please try again. I can't get out of the screen even after turning it off for a few minutes and back on

Hi

There is a screen to enter your MS ID, and I believe there is an option to use a local name and password.

I dont have an MS ID.

IF you want to preform a factory reset and start fresh you can.

Power on the machine and press F11

Select troubleshoot, HP Recovery Manager

Select minimized recovery and do not backup any data as you are stuck in setup.

When the reset has completed go through setup and i recommend creating a local account.  One way to do this is to skip wifi setup so there is no internet connection or there should be an option for a local account at the bottom of the Microsoft Account sign in screen in setup.

Good luck 🙂
